Clifford Chance, the global practice with an annual turnover of some £1.36 billion was ranked highest among the revered group, coming in at 29th place.
Anglo-German rival Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (annual revenue: £1.24 billion) followed in 33rd position, with Allen & Overy (£1.23 billion) on its heels at 34th. Linklaters (£1.27 billion) was another 19 places behind in 53rd position, while Slaughter and May (£416 million), with its reputation for being one of the most traditional old school tie firms in the Square Mile, languished in 88th place in a list of 100 legal practices.
